The following is a list of workshops that may be offered at your site. The classes are open to any individual included in the WOHKN partnership. Courses other than those listed below may also be offered. For specific details about workshops at your site or to request training on a subject not listed, contact your local site library.

General Library Orientation
At the end of the session, attendees will:
- Identify appropriate resources available through the library
- Appreciate the numerous services offered by the library
- Understand how to use facilities, resources, and services provided by the library
- Access print and electronic books and journal articles
Introduction to PubMed
At the end of the session, attendees will:
- Analyze their information need
- Formulate an appropriate search strategy
- Conduct a simple search
- Manage the results (including printing, saving, emailing)
Attendees will have an opportunity for independent practice at the end of the class.
Advanced PubMed
Note: This session assumes successful completion of the Basic PubMed session.
At the end of the session, attendees will:
- Analyze their information need
- Formulate a comprehensive search strategy
- Conduct a search using advanced features and tools in PubMed
- Organize their personalized citation management
- Apply learned skill set to a sample clinical case
Attendees will have an opportunity for independent practice at the end of the class.
Searching Medline on Ovid
At the end of the session, attendees will:
- Analyze their information need
- Formulate an appropriate search strategy
- Conduct a search using the “Basic Search” tab
- Conduct a search using the “Advanced Search” tab
- Manage the results (including printing, saving, emailing)
- Apply learned skill set to a sample clinical case
Attendees will have an opportunity for independent practice at the end of the class.
Searching CINAHL
At the end of the session, attendees will:
- Analyze their information need
- Formulate an appropriate search strategy
- Conduct a simple search
- Manage the results (including printing, saving, emailing)
Attendees will have an opportunity for independent practice at the end of the class.
Searching EBM Reviews/Cochrane Library
At the end of the session, attendees will:
- Understand the mandate and goals of the Cochrane Collaboration and articulate how this resource will meet their information need
- Differentiate between the various databases searchable through EBMR and identify which database is best suited to their specific information need
- Formulate an appropriate search strategy
- Conduct a simple search
- Distinguish the various types of results obtained through EBMR and utilize the appropriate format for their needs
- Manage the results (including printing, saving, emailing)
Attendees will have an opportunity for independent practice at the end of the class.
